UK Sustainable Parcel Delivery Network Hived Raises £12.4m To Decarbonise The Industry

Hived is a London based company building zero-emissions through their sustainable delivery. It operates an entirely electric fleet of vans, cars and bikes and offers same-day, next-day and two-day shipping options to all of Greater London. The business also boasts a 99.99% on-time delivery rate and a 99% first-time success rate, and works with major companies such as ASOS, Shopify and Scurri.

Hived Co-Founders Murvah Iqbal and Mathias Krieger met on a university trip to Silicon Valley and started a data-focused van advertising startup together. When seeing the data on van routes, they quickly realised that the traditional delivery industry was inefficient and polluting, and that there was a great need to improve it.

With a vision of creating the most sustainable, people-centric, efficient and affordable delivery network ever, Murvah and Mathias founded Hived to reinvent modern parcel delivery.

Recently, Hived announced a £12.4 million Series A funding round led by Planet A Ventures, with continued strong participation from existing investors Maersk Growth, Eka Ventures and Pale Blue Dot. The new round of investment enables the company to accelerate growth as they continue to build the best parcel delivery experience and cement their position as the leading sustainable parcel delivery provider in the UK and other key European markets.

Hived has consistently grown its revenue 30% month over month, delivering for some of the biggest retailers including ASOS, ZARA as well as some of the fastest growing SMEs such as Candy Kittens, Vitl and Pip & Nut. The company has also expanded their head offices from 40 drivers to over 1000 and delivered to millions of customers with a 5 out of 5 rating on Trustpilot.

The company has recently introduced several industry-leading features, that includes a dynamic delivery window ETA, live tracking, in-flight redirect options, customisable customer communications and merchant dashboards with carbon-saving reporting.

This is all while operating an entirely electric fleet and being one of the first companies to be operating entirely electric line haul transportation that dramatically helps retailers reduce their scope 3 emissions.

Murvah Iqbal, Co-Founder of Hived, commented on the funding, saying, “this new round of investment was led by Planet A with continued strong participation from our existing investors Maersk Growth, Eka Ventures and Pale blue dot. We are extremely grateful for their continued support and commitment to Hived. A big thanks to our customers, team members and investors — we are excited to continue working with everyone to build the best parcel delivery experience!”
